The current economic situation is the most serious we've faced in the U.S. and around the world since the Great Depression. As part of FACT's commitment to supporting grantees in difficult times, FACT hosted two webinars in December 2008 led by a team of consultants from FACT's Management Assistance Program. The presentation discussed the impact of the economic crisis on non-profit budgets and steps that organizations can take immediately to restructure their budgets and fundraising plans to ensure that they remain stable and strong through this period. Over 50 people participated in the phone calls.
FACT also made available eight hours of individual consulting time to its grantees to help them review budgets and prepare for a possible decrease in foundation funding. To date 18 groups have taken advantage of this special assistance. Several other foundations have presented similar webinars and assistance to their grantees after the success of FACT's program.
