For the first time in generations, progressive activists
and organizations are developing and implementing innovative strategies
and campaigns that offer the prospect of fairness, justice, and meaningful
change to every member of our society.
Over the past ten years, FACT funding has helped to develop and strengthen
some of the most dynamic, community-based organizations and intermediaries
in the U.S. and France, and we look forward to continuing to support these
and other groups.
FACT 2007 Grantees
FACT’s
2007 Grantees include
38 organizations we have funded for as many as 12 years, and others that
we have only funded for a year or two. The annual amounts similarly range
from $20,000 to $150,000. Most, however, received
approximately $50,000 in direct support, as well as opportunities for
additional capacity building grants. You can download a description of
all FACT 2007 grantees and a history of FACT grantees from 1995 –
2007 from the download box at the left.
Two Profiles of FACT Grantees in Action
Two examples of long-term FACT support that exemplify our mission and
funding criteria are Southern Echo, which
provides training and technical and legal assistance to communities of
color in Mississippi and 11 states across the southern U.S., and the multiple
organizations working on campaigns to provide “living
wages” to low-wage workers that allow them to have a decent
standard of living.
